Orange, Grey and White Wedding

Light, fresh, and modern. Those were the words that I had going through my mind when I created this inspiration board.

I love the floral accents throughout the wedding design. At one point I thought about substituting silver instead of a matte regular grey, but I really grey is the best choice to go with. The silver just gives it a very heavy feeling, wouldn’t you agree?

What exactly DOES Unique Pastiche Events mean?

question-mark

Well let’s start by breaking it down:

Unique – I think you already know what this means, but to me it means like no other. Unparalleled and incomparable.

Pastiche – often referred to as a combination of materials from different sources. A little of this, a little of that. Think “eclecticism in art.”

Events – any type of social gathering or activity. Social events, which are my favorites, include everything from weddings and birthdays, to engagement, retirement and holiday parties, and even helping plan the most perfect proposals. That list doesn’t even begin to cover the range of options in between. Anything where there are people in a place, for a purpose, is the most basic form of an event.

So if you combine them all together, you get Unique Pastiche Events! Events that are fresh and new, with personalized touches, and elements sourced from unusual and nontraditional places. It is the extra details that are incorporated and mixed into these events from start to finish that wow not only your guests, but your own imagination.

My goal for Unique Pastiche Events is to become a leader in event design. I’d like to be constantly pushing the standard and blowing away minds, party after party, with the latest and most amazing designs out there.

Is This The Future of Wedding “Norms”?

Humans Control the Weather with LASERS!

The crew over at SourceFed shared this interesting new story about the future of weather. Well, us controlling it at least.

Is this going to be the new future of wedding norms? Paying to have a perfectly cloudless day as you say your vows? I’m sure this is a luxury we will have eventually, but who knew it was in our foreseeable future?

How much would you pay to have your wedding completely rain free?

Blush Pink and Gold Wedding

Today I’m going to keep this intro short because, well the pictures and ideas for this week’s board are just too darn pretty. You need to see them for yourself. This wedding inspiration boards is all things blush pink and gold. There are lots of floral and gold accents, arguably, the girly-est of girly weddings.

Wine and Cheese Birthday Party Ideas

Happy Birthday toooooo youuuuu!

Ok, well maybe it is not ACTUALLY your birthday. Yet. That doesn’t mean you can’t start dropping hints now! This week’s party inspiration is all about wine and cheese, and how you can turn them into an entire birthday bash.

This party is perfect for foodies, or people you want to throw a surprise bash for, but know they won’t really like.

Key elements for this event:

  • Tons of selection – this goes for wine AND cheeses! Don’t just get what you like, everyone’s gotta eat!
  • Other options – not everything can be wine and cheese, there is always someone who doesn’t like it, and see above about selection.
  • Light music – this is going to be a mix and mingle event (more than likely) so don’t let there be any awkward silence. Pandora can help you find some light background music if you need a last minute fix.

If you are looking for pairing ideas or just a lite of basic wines and cheeses to choose from, check out my board on Pinterest devoted specifically to Wine & Cheese Parties. I’ve got several good charts and infographics that will likely help you out when deciding what to pick up.

Navy, Polka Dot and Pearl Wedding

Picture this: It’s the end of summer. You are at a lakeside country club; the sun is getting ready to set for the evening. The “I Dos” are said near a rustic dock, which is perfect for pictures after.  Your favorite vintage car is sitting out front, ready for your grand exit later that evening.

After the ceremony you walk into the banquet room at the country club and see pearly white and polka dot accents throughout the room, and a band is already playing in the background.

I’ve got a retro-y throw back wedding in mind for this event. Retro, but modern. I was trying to capture a little bit of the fifties feeling with this week’s inspiration board. A modern pearl finish cake, a little bit of pearly decorations with some polka dots thrown in for accents.

Possibly my most favorite part of this wedding would be the end. Well not the end of it, but towards the end of the reception. I LOVE the after dinner cordials bar. Set up with the right liquors, fresh hot coffee and hot chocolate, and those chocolate mint stirring sticks everyone loves. How could you not enjoy that?  Anyways, less talking more pictures! I give you this week’s design board:

Beach Themed {Poolside} Birthday Party

You know what’s NOT fun? Back to school anything. Every year it seems like kids summers are getting shorter and shorter. This year I saw “back to school” ads as early as June! Some kids are still IN school in June. That is just crazy. I ask you, what is the world coming to?

So what does that have to do with anything? Well, moral of the story is we need to help make summer last! I’d make it a national campaign if I had the funding…… Now I get it, not everyone lives beach side, or has beach worthy weather year round, I get it I do. BUT if the weather is right, I think you could host a beach themed birthday party (or end of summer party) up through August, maybe even early September. And why shouldn’t you really? Think of it as a grand finale, a final sunset if you will, to summer.

Here is my mood board for hosting a party such as this:

Modern & Bright Peacock Wedding Ideas

Modern & Bright Peacock Wedding Ideas

Modern & Bright Peacock Wedding Ideas

Do you love peacock feathers?  I do! They are one of my favorite color combinations. Not to mention they naturally have a shimmer and shine to them. This week’s idea board is for a modern and bright peacock wedding.

Why modern and bright? If you were to do a quick search for “peacock weddings”, you’d see tons of beautiful events shared, but so many of them are so dark! Not intentionally, but the colors that people tend to pick out of the feather usually combine into a rather dark and almost dated look.

For this idea board, I really wanted to focus on the bright and vibrant colors in a traditional peacock feather and have those be the front and center part of the design scheme.  I’d love to see this theme used for a young couple, in the middle of summer, looking for a bunch of color at their wedding, but still keeping it clean and modern looking.

Key details for this event:

  • Don’t over do the peacock feather itself – you don’t need to plaster them on everything!
  • Use pops of colors – pick your top two choices, for this event blue and green, and use the other colors as “pops” throughout the event design
  • Keep it clean – for this to work, you need to keep clean lines, keep thinking modern, and don’t get carried away with the peacock clutter that is so easy to get

Lingerie Bridal Shower Ideas {in PINK and BLACK}

Oh-la-la indeed!

Picture all of your girlfriends, champagne, lingerie, pink decor, and fun games. What doesn’t sound good about that? A lingerie bridal shower has all of that, and more!

This type of bridal shower is best for the bride with lots of girlfriends (the more the merrier) because there are so many fun games to be played at this type of shower. I love the ones were each guest brings a pair of panties or lingerie (specifically in the brides size of course!) and they all get hung up on a clothes line. The bride has to try and figure out who picked out which pair. I’ve pinned a few lingerie party games on Pinterest if you are interested in reading more ideas.

While I choose to make this idea board in pink and black, any fun girlie combination will do! Just make sure you get lots of fun décor in coordinating colors to really set the mood.

If a lingerie themed bridal shower isn’t your thing, check out my other idea boards for bridal showers here.

Key elements to this event would be:

  • Color scheme – I went with black and pink, but pink and white, or black and white, or use the brides favorite color.
  • Cute, light snacks and nibbles – we ladies are always trying to watch our figure! Besides, we are there to support the bride, not have a full meal.
  • Décor – go all out girlie! There is likely not going to be any guys there sulking in the corner from pink overload, so bring on the floral, pinks and fluff!
