Spring Wedding at a Winery

I’m told that spring “officially” starts on March 20th, but I have a hard time with that date. You see, as a Floridian, our seasons, if we are even going to call them that, are limited, short lived – and rather sporadic. Spring is an occasional day that it’s in the 70’s. And I think so far this year, we are up to maybe 5 of those days, spread out and often followed by a week of low 80s. So the concept of spring, with its new life bringing and bright blossoming flowers, is a bit far-fetched sounding for this part of the world. Everything is always green here. Even when we are low on our rain quotas, the sun still shines and the palm trees just live on.

So to a native Floridian, the idea of spring is not so much the rebirth of nature. It’s more about savoring those few, previous days that bring slightly cooler temperatures, and lower humidity rates. Simple, easy, and yet so hard to come by. It’s a fairly well kept secret that Florida has a number of wineries in its growing wealth of attractions. Snagging one of the beautiful properties on a sunny spring day would make for a perfect wedding setting. Letting the natural green landscape that Florida provides be the highlight of the decor, with a few wine themed accents, and simple spring flower accents, you’ve got all the makings to a natural-elegance inspired outdoor wedding. Why not have a spring wedding at a winery?

Vineyard Wedding in Shades of Plum

How many states do you know that has world class beaches, shopping, amusement parks, AND vineyards? Not too many states coming to mind, do they? Here in Florida we are lucky to have all of those, and so much more. People often forget that we have a number of great wineries here, perfect for an end of summer wedding. This week, I channeled the beauty of wineries from around the world, with shades of plum purples, to create this week’s vineyard wedding idea board. Here’s what I had in mind:

Wine Glass Painting Party Ideas {for National Wine Day}

In honor of National Wine Day, May 25, I present to you this party idea and inspiration board, full of wine themed party décor. I envision this party theme being used for a birthday party, or perhaps a bachelorette party, where lots of wine is enjoyed, and there is plenty of good spirited company around to celebrate with. A wine glass painting party should be in a comfortable area, where people are free to roam about and mingle as their work is drying, and they can nibble on finger foods as they walk about and enjoy the creation of their fellow guests.

For this wine glass painting party, here’s what I had in mind:

Ideas for National Chocolate Cake Day for Two….with wine.

What are the odds, that not only is today both Wine Wednesday AND National Chocolate Cake Day? As if we needed a reason to consume either! This year they both line up perfectly into one glorious day. Maybe it’s because it’s getting close to Valentine’s Day, or maybe I’m a fan of date nights that involve a good red wine and a luscious cake, but I feel like this week’s idea board should be an ever-so-lightly romantic evening for two. And you guessed it: chocolate cake and wine are on the menu. Here’s what I had in mind:

Don’t you think that card is adorable? How cute would it be to write a little love note and ask if your other half will join you for a little wine and chocolate and mail it to them? I would be thrilled to get that in the mail! Here’s where I found all of these great images for this week’s inspiration:

Dinner Party Menu: Baked Scallops and Roasted Potatoes

So guess what? Tomorrow is apparently National Baked Scallops Day. Who knew that was a thing?

I’m from Florida, so I know the deliciousness to be savored when feasting on fresh seafood. I couldn’t resist putting together a scrumptious dinner party menu for this week’s inspiration board. And no party of mine is complete unless there’s wine!

Wine and Cheese Birthday Party Ideas

Happy Birthday toooooo youuuuu!

Ok, well maybe it is not ACTUALLY your birthday. Yet. That doesn’t mean you can’t start dropping hints now! This week’s party inspiration is all about wine and cheese, and how you can turn them into an entire birthday bash.

This party is perfect for foodies, or people you want to throw a surprise bash for, but know they won’t really like.

Key elements for this event:

  • Tons of selection – this goes for wine AND cheeses! Don’t just get what you like, everyone’s gotta eat!
  • Other options – not everything can be wine and cheese, there is always someone who doesn’t like it, and see above about selection.
  • Light music – this is going to be a mix and mingle event (more than likely) so don’t let there be any awkward silence. Pandora can help you find some light background music if you need a last minute fix.

If you are looking for pairing ideas or just a lite of basic wines and cheeses to choose from, check out my board on Pinterest devoted specifically to Wine & Cheese Parties. I’ve got several good charts and infographics that will likely help you out when deciding what to pick up.
