Is it too much to ask for a summertime party that is colorful, doesn’t look cheesy, and also doesn’t cost a fortune? I don’t think so! While it’s easy to get swept up in beautiful tropical oasis soirees and exotic paradise island themed parties with all the inspiration on Pinterest, it’s important to remember that you don’t have to have all those specialty plants and decor to make a summertime party that wows. With some imagination, ribbon, streamers, and some string lights, you can create colorful party decor without it looking cheap or overdone. Here’s some ideas to get you started:

Hello, whimsy! This week I am taking a step back away from modern or industrial event decor ideas, and sharing a classic enchanted evening garden party idea board. There are hundreds, probably thousands, of ideas on the internet that are all so magical and enchanted. I’ve picked just a few of my favorite to share with you this week. Given the fact that the options and ideas are limitless, I choose to hone in on elements that I believe to be must haves for any event. To me, these are the make or break elements that really bring your theme from concept to reality.

For example, if you were to throw an enchanted evening garden party, some of the most important elements would be the table decor and the fairy lights. Ideally, a themed invitation and entryway would be incorporated into your design, to help set the mood. And in today’s modern world, a magical photo backdrop to remember the evening by is a must.

Modern Mirror Event Decor Ideas

Looking for a clean and modern event decor concept for an upcoming event? Have you considered creating something that will really stand out, like a modern geodesic mirror theme? With plenty of wow elements, balanced out by clean, modern lines, this concept is sure to have guests talking for days. I love the idea of a dramatic entrance that gets guests thinking they are in for one thing, and then have that massive impact moment when they realize it’s the exact opposite of what they thought they were going to walk into, which is exactly what happens in this week’s modern mirror event decor ideas board.

Guests walk in through a dark but dimensional room, with hints of the geometrical mirror, and then the next thing they know, they are out in the open of a bright outdoor space, layered in sculptural mirror elements and complimentary white furniture. To me, this decor design concept could easily translate into a hyper-modern conference reception, scaled to fit any sized summer wedding, or even be thrown for a unique birthday or social celebration. Looking for the perfect theme for an upcoming luncheon? Be it a thank you lunch, annual meeting, or even a fundraiser – don’t overlook the theme and decor of your event! It is so easy to be underwhelmed at luncheons, due to their perceived limits of timing. In all reality, if it’s noon or 8 in the evening, a ballroom will often look the same, if it’s a standard no-window room. There are a lot of creative ways to bring a farmers market themed luncheon to life, indoors or outdoors. Spring Wedding at a Winery

I’m told that spring “officially” starts on March 20th, but I have a hard time with that date. You see, as a Floridian, our seasons, if we are even going to call them that, are limited, short lived – and rather sporadic. Spring is an occasional day that it’s in the 70’s. And I think so far this year, we are up to maybe 5 of those days, spread out and often followed by a week of low 80s. So the concept of spring, with its new life bringing and bright blossoming flowers, is a bit far-fetched sounding for this part of the world. Everything is always green here. Even when we are low on our rain quotas, the sun still shines and the palm trees just live on.

So to a native Floridian, the idea of spring is not so much the rebirth of nature. It’s more about savoring those few, previous days that bring slightly cooler temperatures, and lower humidity rates. Simple, easy, and yet so hard to come by. It’s a fairly well kept secret that Florida has a number of wineries in its growing wealth of attractions. Snagging one of the beautiful properties on a sunny spring day would make for a perfect wedding setting. Letting the natural green landscape that Florida provides be the highlight of the decor, with a few wine themed accents, and simple spring flower accents, you’ve got all the makings to a natural-elegance inspired outdoor wedding. Why not have a spring wedding at a winery?

To kick off the first week of October, which as far as I’m concerned kicks off all things pumpkin and autumn like, I thought I’d share an outdoor, jack-o-lantern themed Halloween party idea board. This themed party would be fantastic for a neighborhood get together, especially in a backyard or lawn setting. Trying to keep the scariness level friendly for all ages, I kept the Halloween inspiration focused on the pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns… no blood and gore.  How to do you like to celebrate the end of summer and welcome the fall season?

End of Summer Dinner Party Soiree in Berry Hues

Yes, I realize that TECHNICALLY summer isn’t over for a few more weeks. But you know what? It’s hot. It’s realllllly hot here in Florida. Low to mid-90s, high humidity, all sunshine, minimal rain. It’s brutal. So to take my mind off the heat, I thought about what I would do to make the most of this weekend, leading me into this week’s party ideas board. I was thinking how great it would be to have a beautiful patio, with nice rich shades of dark purples and plums. This fairytale patio would be the perfect setting for my end of summer, dinner party soiree.  Delicious berries would be the highlight of the menu. From cool drinks to sweet treats, a hint of berry could be found throughout the evening. Simple centerpieces near a vibrant, living wall of succulents with candlelight shimmering from hanging lanterns, would just make for a wonderful evening among friends and family. While I’m waving my magic wand to dream this up, I throw in an extra swish and flick to get a personal chef who would prepare this meal. Oh and a helpful staff that would help tidy up after!
