7 Colorful Watercolor Wedding and Party Ideas

Don’t you just love showing up to a wedding or a party and being instantly energized by the vivid colors and pulsating energy produced by the decor and the space? It’s easy to spice up your next soiree by inviting color to your decor design, without turning it into a rainbow painting party (which would also be pretty fun, but I think we’ll save that for another time). This week’s wedding and party ideas board introduces you to 7 colorful watercolor wedding and party images that you should consider for your next event.

While each of these individual images of watercolor event decor ideas can be used together to create a beautiful wedding, they can just as easily be used for a luncheon, birthday party, or any other celebration. I would love to see this concept utilized for a spring time luncheon, in perhaps more pastel shades. But these energizing hues are also perfect for end of spring, beginning of summer soirees.

If you are looking for more ideas for your next painting, watercolor, or art inspired celebration, check out my board on Pinterest with 100’s of more ideas.

Bold Bohemian Wedding in Jewel Tones

Bold, bohemian beautiful. These three b’s perfectly describe the vibe I was feeling for this week’s wedding decor inspiration and ideas board. A breathtaking ceremony framed by intricate, yet modernized stained glass installation, followed by a reception filled with rich jewel tones and layers of details. Bold, bohemian inspired floral centerpieces with an array of colors make the tables pop. Clusters of mixed wildflowers in colorful vintage glass bottles, paired with assorted jewel tone napkins make for the perfect tablescape. What would make this a spectacularly unique wedding would be the bar. A simple rustic bar with small bottles with wildflowers would be perfect, but it’s what is behind the bar that is special.

Imagine having a wall full of racks, filled to the edge with vintage glassware in all sorts of different shapes, sizes, and colors. As guests refilled their drinks, they were presented a new glass, different from everyone else. Sure, it’s not cheap to rent that many vintage glasses, but the experience and uniqueness is worth it. Bold, bohemian weddings in jewel tones have been done before, but it’s about how you can bring your unique flair into the event that makes it special. Depending on your guest count and timeline, it is possible to amass these vintage glasses at local tag sales and thrift stores for a very reasonable price. If you take the DIY route, consider encouraging guests to take their favorite glass home that evening, as a memento of the special occasion.

Here are my favorite decor ideas for this bold, bohemian wedding in jewel tones:

9 Ways to Include Greenery in Corporate Events – 2017 Pantone Color of the Year

This week, we welcome Greenery, the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year to our growing collection of event inspiration. I am over the moon with excitement about the chosen Color of the Year. While I tried my best to embrace last year’s duo colors of the year, I really found that those soft hues just do not radiate with me as much as I’d have liked them to. This year, the game has changed. Not only is green my favorite color, but it is such a  fresh and clean hue. The team at Pantone working on the Color of the Year nailed it this year.

This invigorating and modern color, Greenery, is a fitting color to introduce to your upcoming corporate events. It’s neutral, but lively. Modern and clean. Most importantly, it is easy to incorporate into your events. Of course, Greenery is easily incorporated via natural foliage and ferns. But there are so many other ways to use this great color! From green flowers, to seating, to accent colors, lighting, and perimeter decor, it’s easier than you would think to bring this pop of life in to any event scenario. To help get your event decor ideas flowing, I’ve put together 9 ways to include Greenery in your corporate events:

Rustic Fir Tree Farm Christmas Wedding

Have you ever visited a tree farm before? Had the chance to see where Christmas trees are grown? When I think of what it would be like to visit a Christmas tree farm in the winter, I seem to instantly get warm flurries in my head about how magical and inviting it must be. Why not harness that magical feeling to create a rustic Christmas wedding on a fir tree farm?

With its natural rustic winter ambiance, you’re already half way there to creating a memorable wedding that no ballroom can compete with. It takes just a few more elements to complete this design and turn it into a cohesive wedding theme. For this concept, lots of natural greens with burlap accents is key. Simplicity rules in this design, with no fuss, and a focus on the natural beauty that the growing fir trees have to offer.

If the couple (or planners – this would be an unexpected but fantastic corporate themed holiday party too) felt so inclined to be more environmentally friendly, there are a number of options available. Having the paper elements printed on recycled paper, gifting guests seedlings to take and plant somewhere, even offering to have guests give donations to the tree farm instead of gifts, the list can go on.

A Wedding on a Snowy Winter Night

Imagine a cold winters night, while it’s gently snowing outside. That serene feeling of calmness, layered with the beauty of the dark night and fresh white snow. Towering branchy white trees above, and dimly light lamp posts nearby to mark your path. Twinkling stars above, and candle accents here and there. What you are envisioning is my take on a wedding on a snowy winter night. As you are imagining this, did your fantasy look develop into something with dark, deep blues and crisp whites? Mine certainly did.

The addition of lamp post accents in the escort cards, and in the area decor take this winter wedding to a more unique, one of a kind look. Having a lamp post is not the most traditional of decor choices, but certainly lends itself to this unique theme, and adds to the ambiance of the decor, especially if the event is held in a specialty tent with taller ceiling options. Ice Queen Inspired Winter Wedding

Do you find yourself getting all warm and fuzzy on the inside when you think of the coldest days of winter? Are you at your happiest spot on the icy, cold days when there is barely any sun to note? Or maybe you are just a fan of Frozen, and have your heart set on an icy, winter themed wedding.

If any of those ring true to you, or even if you are a bespoke bride who loves pushing the boundaries, you are going to love this week’s wedding idea board.

Channeling my inner Ice Queen love, I scoured the internet for some of the top ideas for an icy winter wedding. This wasn’t just any celebration, oh no. I’ve shared my take on a frozen icicle holiday party before. This wedding inspiration board had to be fit for the ice queen herself. A complete vision of venue, ice sculptures, frosted icicle accents, and of course: a massive ice bar.

After days of searching for the perfect images of what I was envisioning, I have created this Ice Queen inspired winter wedding ideas board for your viewing pleasure:

Sophisticated Green Velvet Winter Wedding Decor with Gold

There was a time I was fearful that I had run out of things to see and discover on Pinterest, but oh how wrong I was! I have found several, absolutely one of a kind images the last few days, and have had an overwhelming sense of inspiration and ideas come to mind after discovering them.

The first piece of beauty I found was a regal looking altar, draped in a dark green velvet, adorned with crisp white orchid flowers along the top. To heighten the look even further, there are gold, regal tassels and fringe accenting the drapery, creating a simple but stunning design. There was no turning back once I started down the path of devising the perfect combination of elegance and class that this wedding inspiration board demanded. I am over the moon with the elements I’ve included in this week’s wedding post. Lots of gold accents, plenty of green velvet, and of course more bright white orchids. Together, they create an almost enchanting, storybook-esque winter wedding.

While I think this would be a beautiful Christmas wedding in general, I would particularly love to see this wedding done on a day like New Year’s, or perhaps even Valentine’s Day. There is something so romantic about the textures and bold use of this luxurious dark green velvet that could really play to those holidays.

Modern and Clean Thanksgiving Decor in Maroon and Turquoise Blue

As we find ourselves in that final stretch before Christmas madness takes over, it’s important to remember that all of the stress we put on ourselves during the holiday season is not as significant as who is around us. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season and forget that all these get togethers and parties are there for us to connect with our friends and family, not to show off or one-up someone’s pumpkin pie. With that mindset at the forefront of your thoughts, allow me to present to you the concept and idea for this week’s Thanksgiving decor idea board.

For this week’s theme, I choose to create a calming but welcoming effect with this modern and clean styling Thanksgiving decor. Maroon and turquoise blue are the heroes of this color palette, with crisp whites and silvery greys accent in the background, merging with the inevitable orange hues of natural autumn decor. Creating such a warm and inviting environment for you and your guests to share can help foster a relaxed and more intimate visit, with the focus on each others company, and not overwhelming decor. Why not try it in these shades?

Citrus Themed Thanksgiving Decor

Do you ever find yourself drawn to unusual takes on traditional decor? Maybe when everyone is focused on red and green, you opt for a stylized modern white and gold vignette? Or perhaps you find a unique way to incorporate warm citrus hues into your Thanksgiving table. When I first saw this teal buffet, with its rustic branch elements and citrus accents, I knew it wouldn’t be for everyone, but it would absolutely be a look for me. As a native Floridian, I am often spoiled by our year-round access to fresh and delicious citrus. There is something to captivating and warming about the vibrant hues of the lightly textured fruit. After seeing this simple but beautiful buffet spread, I thought that Thanksgiving and citrus really do make for quite the duo. They both emanate warmth and happiness, but I think it’s the citrus that really elevates this Thanksgiving decor to a higher level, bringing in a sense of freshness to the table.

Shades of a teal blue and off white help balance out the orange hues, as to protect them from overwhelming the decor, but it’s the textures and shapes that really help to keep this look from becoming overdone. The different shapes and sizes of the fresh fruit table runner softens the design, especially with the foliage and branch accents mixed in. This teal blue and citruss hue styling lends itself to a smaller, more intimate dinner party experience.

Once Upon a Time Storybook Gala Ideas

It’s getting to be that time of the year again….fundraisers, holiday galas, office parties….invites are starting to flow! With so many celebrations going on, it’s easy for guests to get bored with seeing the same festive looks, or “night in New York” themes. It’s time to suggest something new to the committee! Why not host a once upon a time storybook gala? It’s nothing too modern, so it suits all ages, but it’s whimsical enough to be appropriate for guests of all ages. With the emphasis on incorporating storybooks into this gala concept, the décor focus shifts from a specific storybook theme, to transporting guests to space where any of their favorite storybook can come to life right off the shelf.
