Modern and Clean Thanksgiving Decor in Maroon and Turquoise Blue

As we find ourselves in that final stretch before Christmas madness takes over, it’s important to remember that all of the stress we put on ourselves during the holiday season is not as significant as who is around us. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season and forget that all these get togethers and parties are there for us to connect with our friends and family, not to show off or one-up someone’s pumpkin pie. With that mindset at the forefront of your thoughts, allow me to present to you the concept and idea for this week’s Thanksgiving decor idea board.

For this week’s theme, I choose to create a calming but welcoming effect with this modern and clean styling Thanksgiving decor. Maroon and turquoise blue are the heroes of this color palette, with crisp whites and silvery greys accent in the background, merging with the inevitable orange hues of natural autumn decor. Creating such a warm and inviting environment for you and your guests to share can help foster a relaxed and more intimate visit, with the focus on each others company, and not overwhelming decor. Why not try it in these shades?

Here’s what I had in mind for a modern and clean Thanksgiving decor in maroon and turquoise blue:

Modern Blue Pumpkin Thanksgiving Decor Ideas – in Light Blue and Navy Blue

With Halloween just behind us, and Thanksgiving just a few short weeks away, it’s time to start thinking about what your Thanksgiving dinner is going to look like. If you are looking to mix up the traditional rustic orange color palette and go for something more modern, you’ll love the Thanksgiving party decor idea board I have put together for this week. Shades of light blue, mixed with a dark navy blue and hints of taupe and ivory combine to create this modern Thanksgiving dinner styling. To me, having lots of pumpkins in various sizes and colors help make this a cohesive look. I’d love to see the buffet have a few pops of blue or a gentle metallic accent, perhaps in the plates. To add just a touch of freshness, the pumpkin succulent planters have been incorporated. A fun dessert display is always in good taste, and this hanging dessert buffet stays within the color palette, but brings that modern touch with its clean lines. Beyond Thanksgiving, this is a great concept for transitioning from the end of summer into the fall season.

Coastal Christmas Holiday Party

I don’t want to alarm you, but there’s roughly 165 days till Christmas!

I know, I know. We JUST had the Fourth of July. How could I possibly be thinking about Christmas?

And you know WHY I’m thinking of Christmas? Because I absolutely love the idea of hosting a Christmas in July party. Being a native Floridian, it’s hard to really wrap your head around the “white Christmas” where everyone is snuggled up by the fire. We’re usually happy if 85 is the high for the day. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a spectacular Christmas with beautiful decor!

This week I’ve taken on a challenge: to improve on my original tropical Christmas from ages ago. Back in 2012 when I was just starting to put together these party idea boards, I shared this Tropical Christmas Dinner Party. At the time, I of course thought it was great, and everything went together. Now, I look at it and see many ways to improve.

My 2016 take on this theme is create an elegant and beautiful coastal Christmas holiday party. Soft hues of blue with creamy whites, textures of shells, and strategically chic accents. What a clarified version of the same thought!

Here’s what I had in mind for the seaside beach Christmas party:

Rockets and Ribbons – Patriotic 4th of July Party Ideas

Can you believe that the 4th of July is less than a month away?

With all of the tragic events that have occurred in our country in the last week, especially in Orlando, I felt as if it was necessary to create an inspired, red white and blue themed party. As our country mourns the deaths of countless individuals from the Orlando shootings, I think it’s important to highlight our ability to come together as a community, and as a nation.

This week I have created a party idea board for Fourth of July celebrations, with an emphasis for family friendly festivities. It’s so important for our country to come together and rejoice in the many freedoms we are fortunate to have, especially in times like these. This family-centered patriotic party idea board has two elements I’m quite fond of: rocket fireworks and free flowing ribbons!

I loved seeing so many great takes on fireworks as party décor, that I just knew I had to incorporate them in this week’s party idea board. To balance out their straight, rigid lines, I’ve brought in free flowing ribbons in red, white, and blue to soften the design.

Frozen Icicle Holiday Party Ideas

It’s SNOWING!

Hah, I wish! Here in Florida we can only dream of snow. There is no snow in sight for us, but there is PLENTY of sun to go around. I’ve never even seen snow, but that’s part of the deal of being born and raised in Florida. I hope to see it someday. I have heard it can be absolutely magical when it is lightly drifting down from the sky.

Until I get to see snow, I will continue to dream about snowy, winter wonderland party scenes. This week, I’m imagining a snowy icicle inspired holiday party. Here’s what I’m dreaming of:

Cobalt Blue + Gold Holiday Dinner Party

Are you feeling abundantly dosed in Christmas yet?

I swear everywhere I turn there is a red and green Christmas tree covered in glitter. And trust me, I’m a HUGE fan of glitter, but I am a little bored with the red and green. I know, I know, they are the “traditional” Christmas colors.

But answer me honestly; have you really NEVER gotten just the tiniest drop of annoyance seeing red and green everywhere? Something tells me you likely had at one point or another.

Today I wanted to share with you some inspiration for those of you potentially hosting your own dinner party this holiday season. Why not consider a nice cobalt blue and bright yellow gold? They mix up the traditional holiday décor so well, and transition beautifully into New Year’s celebrations.
