11 Christmas Party Stations Guests Will Love

Hold on tight! The holidays are going to be in full swing in less than 12 hours. To me, it’s always Thanksgiving day that kicks off the mode of full on Christmas mixed with holiday spirit and mayhem. To help keep your holiday season fun and exciting, and maybe mix up some of your traditional parties, I’ve put together 11 Christmas party stations that your guests will love. From food to activities, each of these fun stations will offer your guests something on both an interactive and a personal level. From customizing their own unique wreath, to creating the ultimate more, you really can’t go wrong. And to those of you with little ones, not to worry! I’ve included a few ideas tailored specifically to children. Better yet, many of these stations can be adjusted slightly to fit both your adult and child demographics.

Here they are:

Coastal Christmas Holiday Party

I don’t want to alarm you, but there’s roughly 165 days till Christmas!

I know, I know. We JUST had the Fourth of July. How could I possibly be thinking about Christmas?

And you know WHY I’m thinking of Christmas? Because I absolutely love the idea of hosting a Christmas in July party. Being a native Floridian, it’s hard to really wrap your head around the “white Christmas” where everyone is snuggled up by the fire. We’re usually happy if 85 is the high for the day. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a spectacular Christmas with beautiful decor!

This week I’ve taken on a challenge: to improve on my original tropical Christmas from ages ago. Back in 2012 when I was just starting to put together these party idea boards, I shared this Tropical Christmas Dinner Party. At the time, I of course thought it was great, and everything went together. Now, I look at it and see many ways to improve.

My 2016 take on this theme is create an elegant and beautiful coastal Christmas holiday party. Soft hues of blue with creamy whites, textures of shells, and strategically chic accents. What a clarified version of the same thought!

Here’s what I had in mind for the seaside beach Christmas party:

Modern Gold and White Holiday Dinner Party

Are you a fan of modern Christmas decorations? Or do you prefer the more traditional look?

When I saw this beautiful dining room the other day, I just KNEW this week’s inspiration board would be centered on it. It’s beautiful, modern, elegant and simple. All the characteristics I like in a design. I was envisioning a modern holiday dinner party. Here’s what I had in mind:

Christmas Eve Cookies and Milk Party Ideas

Hello! And Merry Christmas! As Christmas Eve is drawing nearer to completion, and everyone is getting snuggled up in their comfiest of PJs, why not gather the family together and have a little midnight par-tay? Ok, maybe not AT midnight, but late night, when it is dark, and cold out and it’s about “that time” to get everyone to bed.

What if you had a little family PJ party, with some warm milk and a few cookies? A few cookies mind you – you’ve gotta leave some for Santa! This would be such a fun bonding opportunity for your family or just your other half, and a great new tradition. You don’t even have to open presents. Just get some cookies, your PJs and sit around the lit tree with all the other lights off. It’s a pretty magical moment. Plus, you can get some uber cute pictures of the little ones!

Here’s what I had in mind: (and yes – paper plates and small servings are PERFECT for this last minute get together!)

Holiday Cookie Exchange Party Ideas

Nom nom nom – COOKIES!

I’ve had cookies on the mind. I think it’s because a few weeks ago I shared an inspiration board for hosting a cookie decorating party. And I really think that it is a fun seasonal activity that kids (and adults!) can enjoy. Since that post I have been thinking about how fun it would be if you could host a holiday cookie exchange party. Maybe get all your neighbors together, or do this instead of a holiday office party. It would be fun, and way more interesting – ESPECIALLY if you tell people it is a competition. People get SUPER competitive…before you know it, people will be quoting the recipe from some top chef they spent hours perfecting, possibly arguing over who’s frosting is better. I can just see it now: everyone hyped up from all the sugar, possibly too many holiday cocktails, then the scoring begins…..oh what a night.

See what I’m talking about? There must be something about cookies. Here’s what I had in mind- and yes, I went on that sugar plum meets ginger bread land route. I think it’s appropriate, don’t you?

See- all you really need for this party is some friends, some festive decorations, and a batch or two of cookies on a table. Easy as pie!

If you could only eat ONE Christmas cookie a year- what would you choose to have this year?

Christmas Cookie Decorating Party

I know TECHNICALLY Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and I should probably do one last “fall” inspired inspiration board. But you know what? I don’t feel like it. I’m ready to dive into Christmas! That and I am not a huge fan of autumn (mostly out of never having experienced it) and today is an abnormally cold day for us here in Florida. And by cold I mean it’s 65 out. That’s cold for us, don’t be jealous!

Now that we are past that, and we have both come to terms that it’s pretty much been all about Christmas in the US since, November 1 (you know it has!), what better way to REALLY dive into the season then by decorating cookies? Cookies + Sprinkles + Eggnog = a good time. Add some friends, some Christmas classics on the radio and you will be having a great time.

This would also be a fun theme for a kid’s birthday party that happens to fall close to the holidays. I know if my birthday was around this time of the year I’d want to do this with all my friends. Though, I also think a snowman building party would be a blast too.

Let’s get to it, here’s what I’m thinking:

Christmas Morning Brunch Ideas {with an ornament theme}

Merry Christmas!

Are you a morning person usually? Or do you just make the exception one day out of the year? If you can pull yourself out of bed before noon, you’re likely able to handle hosting a Christmas brunch.

To me, Christmas brunch is supposed to be relaxed and laid back. Nothing too stressful, just enjoying the company of family and friends. But there are a few things that you can do to make you Christmas brunch EXTRA special, especially if you have children.

Here is my idea for a Christmas morning brunch, with an ornament theme to it:

Ideas for Hosting Your Own Ugly Sweater Christmas Party

You know what you should do this weekend? Throw a little holiday party for you and your friends. Nothing serious, just a fun, spur of the moment ugly sweater party! Why not? They are easy to get (or make) and don’t need a lot of prepping and planning.

On top of the visual inspiration you’ll find below, here are some helpful ideas to hosting a successful ugly (or tacky) sweater Christmas party:

  • Have lots of holiday music on hand. Preferably livelier, upbeat songs.
  • Have refreshments on hand. They don’t necessarily have to be filled with alcohol, but it can’t hurt. People will likely feel a little uncomfortable knowingly wearing a ridiculous sweater out, so help get them feeling a little more relaxed!
  • Have back up ridiculous Christmas hats or vests on hand for those who don’t come as prepared as others…there is always one!
  • Remember the ridiculous looks of the night by having an equally ridiculous photo booth area.
  • Let people know you are having a little contest for the most outrageously tacky sweater. A small prize will do. Caution: this will almost certainly encourage some of your friends to get their game faces on and go all out with their party looks. You’ve been warned.

And without further ado, a visual inspiration board for a fun, ugly sweater Christmas party:
