Asian Infused Wedding in Red

It’s not too often I find myself designing concept boards based specifically around a cultural theme, but this week I was overwhelmingly inspired by the tablescape you’ll see below. The red and gold paper lanterns with an array of fresh flowers on the table caught my eye. After more digging into similar looks, I found myself disappointed in the number of higher end weddings that incorporated these beautiful red paper lanterns. With that in mind I challenged myself to create this Asian influenced wedding in red, featuring beautiful paper lanterns that looked luxurious and opulent, and less crafty.

Here’s what I created for this week’s Asian inspired wedding in red:

Starry Night Sparkler Wedding

Picture a magical evening wedding under the stars: twinkling lights draping down from a massive oak tree, suspended over the place where you and your loved ones are gathered to witness your wedding ceremony…..sparklers illuminate your reception, taking focus in your centerpieces, your cake, your send off, and even your photo opps. That’s what I envisioned when putting together this starry night sparkler wedding idea board. Something magical, something different, and something truly memorable. I think this week’s wedding inspiration board captures those things and so much more. Here’s what I had in mind:

Magical Midsummer’s Night Wedding Ideas

“Fairy dust is like love, it creates magic whenever you give it away.” I found that quote on Pinterest the other day, as I was browsing some stunning centerpieces. It inspired me to create a magical midsummer’s night wedding idea board to share with you this week. There are oh so many takes on a midsummer’s night wedding out there, filled with over grown foliage and floral blooms. I’m sure you’ve seen them all if you spend more than 5 minutes a week on Pinterest. To add my interpretation of this popular wedding theme, I opted for an ever so slightly more modern take. Instead of having blooming flowers and green vines everywhere, I decided to incorporate more aged and woven vines. You’ll see in a number of the inspirational images there are rich dark vines, often shown woven into unique shapes. And no garden party is complete without an abundance of fairy lights! Combined, I think these elements make for a spectacular evening wedding and reception.

Bird of Paradise Tropical Wedding

I hope you like pina coladas! You’ll be craving one after seeing the bird of paradise inspired tropical wedding board I’ve put together for your viewing pleasure.  I don’t know about you, but seeing this inspiration board gives me hints of African vibes. I think it’s highlighted in the exotic bird of paradise paired with the branches and oversized tropical palm leaves.

This week I’ve gone more towards a traditional tropical look, coming away from the modern destination beach wedding concept I shared a few weeks ago (click here to see). I like the juxtaposition the two boards have to each other.

Here’s what I had in mind:

A Gilded Botanical Wedding

We’re doing it up like Midas today! Roses dipped in gold, garlands of gold bay leaves, centerpieces featuring gold garlands over crystal….the list of gold elements in this week’s wedding idea board is quite long. But don’t worry! I’ve included all the links below to the sites where each of these images were found.

The inspiration for this week’s wedding idea board actually came about when I was looking at my “Unusual and Unique Wedding Bouquet” board on Pinterest working on last week’s inspiration board. (If you missed that inspiration board, it’s a fun and modern tropical beach wedding. Go see it here.) I had been browsing through that board and saw it. A bouquet of golden roses. Over the top but completely fabulous. I knew I had to do something with it.

After thinking about it a little more, and looking back at some of the other posts I did with gold, I wanted to try something different. Botanical elements kept catching my eye, so I opted to feature lots of different types of gold leafs and foliage elements.

Here’s what I had in mind:

A Modern Tropical Beach Wedding in Orange

Would you say “I do,” on the beach?

Come get away with me today! We’re going to the beach for a fabulous destination wedding, with a modern vibe and LOTS of vibrant orange accents. All the traditional elements of a beach or destination wedding are included in this week’s wedding idea board, just with more of a modern twist. I opted for a perfect shade of orange that pairs well with the tropical foliage leaves that I’m including sparingly on the tables. Adding dark wood elements on the tables helps to ground the wedding decor, and helps keep it from getting too south beach colorful. Maybe another week!

It’s not a destination wedding to me if there isn’t an abundance of tropical flowers! This week, I’ve made sure to include a variety of flowers with all sorts of different shapes, sizes, and colors. The simple but modern arrangements are all so different, but still highlight the textures and natural beauty of each flower’s natural shape.

Here’s what I had in mind for this week’s modern tropical beach wedding in orange idea board:

Modern White Orchid Outdoor Wedding Ideas

Are you a fan of modern or classic event décor?

I hope both! This week’s wedding idea board is all about modern. Some of the phrases I would use to describe this event décor would be: Clean shapes. Bright white. Modern elegance. Those are the inspiration words for this week’s wedding inspiration board.

This modern white orchid idea board would be perfect for an outdoor wedding this summer. Orchids generally hold up well in most temperatures, and their clean lines really feed into this modern styling.

The pops of green floral here and there help add a bit of color, while their unusual uses and shapes help add depth and dimension to this event. I opted for several unusual centerpieces, because I like to have several interesting pieces in my design. It helps keep the eye interested and wandering to discover the next stimulating element in the event décor.

Pop of Purple – Countryside Spring Wedding Ideas

I’m dreaming of a whiiitttteeeee…wedding! I’m actually dreaming of a white wedding with pops of purple. Something beautiful, with lots of fresh flowers in shades of white and cream with pops of purple. I’m thinking lilac purple with an occasional darker shade of purple mixed in. Don’t you think that would be a lovely wedding to attend on a nice spring afternoon? Imagine it, a wedding on a sunny countryside side estate, tons and tons of fresh floral flowers is everywhere, and there’s white flowy fabrics blowing in the breeze. I invasion nothing short of graceful and chic. Here’s what I had in mind:

Pink Rose Quartz Spring Wedding

Oh la la! This week I present to you a spring wedding in milky shades of pink Rose Quartz (Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2016). I almost put together a wedding in this color family a few weeks ago when I was preparing the Soft Pink Rose Quartz Baby Birthday Party Ideas post, but couldn’t find all of the elements I was looking for.

But I kept searching, and found some perfect pictures to really capture what I am looking for in this wedding inspiration board. I wanted to put an idea board together that was soft and feminine, just like Rose Quartz, but also had the slightest touches of natural wood elements, balanced out by light amounts of dangling crystal elements.

Here’s what I had in mind:

Elaborate Serenity Blue Hydrangea Wedding Ideas

Serenity or Rose Quartz? If you had to pick one, which would it be?

If you aren’t sure what I’m talking about, let me fill you in. The 2016 Pantone Color of the Year is actually two colors: Serenity and Rose Quartz. Check them out here if you haven’t seen them already.

I can’t say I normally would have opted to use either of those colors in anything I normally do, but you know I like a good challenge. This week I set forth with the challenge to do an elaborate wedding in the tricky color: Serenity. From what I see, Serenity is a periwinkle blue-purple that is cool and very soft. Loving the softness of the color, I decided to put together an over-the-top wedding inspiration board for you this week, full of soft colors and delicate hydrangeas.
