Snowman Birthday Party Ideas

Are you nice and cozy and warm?  As I write this I am, but I know January in Florida is some of our coldest time of the year.  In fact, I’m pretty sure it is colder now then it was around Christmas.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the “snow cold”, just “Florida cold” here, so we don’t get to make snowmen any time of the year, much less after Christmas. One of my wishes as a kid was to have a snowman birthday party. I thought that should be the inspiration for this week’s idea board. So without further ado:

What is your favorite type of snowman to make? A traditional one? A sand snowman? A humorous snowman?

Give {glittery} Thanks

Have you noticed most stores are pretty much skipping thanksgiving décor and going straight to Christmas everything? Well I have!

And while I’m all for Christmas décor, (it is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for) it kind of seems that Thanksgiving gets the short end of the décor stick.

This week I am sharing with you an inspiration board for your thanksgiving 2013 table. I’m obviously a huge fan of glitter anything, but I really love the idea of having a sparkly thanksgiving table. While the traditional orange and tan and yellows are great, they can get a little boring year after year. Plus, if you shop smart, you can get a TON of post-Halloween pumpkins and décor super cheap, and glitter them up yourself to save a bundle.

Cute Candy Themed Birthday Party Ideas

Can you imagine a life without candy? Yeah, me either.

It’s especially difficult to envision with all of the candy-lined shelves at what seems like pretty much every store on every corner, with Halloween just days away.

Having said that, what ever happened to the CUTE candy?

Doesn’t it seem like everything on the shelves is plastered with labels and brand names, etc.? What ever happened to that cutesy, bright and colorful, Willy Wonka type candy? THAT is the inspiration for this week’s board. A cute candy birthday party for kids of all ages!

Little Monster Bash Ideas

Boo!

Happy October! I’m so excited it’s October aren’t you? Not so much because I’m a Halloween fan or anything, but more because my holiday decorating whims are a little more justified. The stores near me have already had their fully set up and decorated CHRISTMAS TREES on display for several weeks now….WHY?! I have no idea why, but whatever, they are up.

Today’s inspiration board is for those of you with little monsters of your own. I thought hosting a “monster bash” for the little ones would be soo adorable! I could just imagine a room full of cute little monsters running around….Anyways, staying focused!

I think this would be a wonderful theme for a birthday celebration, or just a traditional Halloween party. But honestly, as a grown adult I would totally go to a cute-sy monster bash! Wouldn’t you?

To get you in the mood, make sure to have this video playing in the background:

Ninja Birthday Party Ideas (DIY Friendly)

Hiiiii-yyaaa!

That’s right. You’ve just been ninja chopped. I bet you didn’t see me coming with my stealth like ninja skills!

In case you haven’t guessed yet, ninjas are the theme of the week! This week’s inspiration board is focused on a boy’s birthday party – ninja style!

Wine and Cheese Birthday Party Ideas

Happy Birthday toooooo youuuuu!

Ok, well maybe it is not ACTUALLY your birthday. Yet. That doesn’t mean you can’t start dropping hints now! This week’s party inspiration is all about wine and cheese, and how you can turn them into an entire birthday bash.

This party is perfect for foodies, or people you want to throw a surprise bash for, but know they won’t really like.

Key elements for this event:

  • Tons of selection – this goes for wine AND cheeses! Don’t just get what you like, everyone’s gotta eat!
  • Other options – not everything can be wine and cheese, there is always someone who doesn’t like it, and see above about selection.
  • Light music – this is going to be a mix and mingle event (more than likely) so don’t let there be any awkward silence. Pandora can help you find some light background music if you need a last minute fix.

If you are looking for pairing ideas or just a lite of basic wines and cheeses to choose from, check out my board on Pinterest devoted specifically to Wine & Cheese Parties. I’ve got several good charts and infographics that will likely help you out when deciding what to pick up.

Beach Themed {Poolside} Birthday Party

You know what’s NOT fun? Back to school anything. Every year it seems like kids summers are getting shorter and shorter. This year I saw “back to school” ads as early as June! Some kids are still IN school in June. That is just crazy. I ask you, what is the world coming to?

So what does that have to do with anything? Well, moral of the story is we need to help make summer last! I’d make it a national campaign if I had the funding…… Now I get it, not everyone lives beach side, or has beach worthy weather year round, I get it I do. BUT if the weather is right, I think you could host a beach themed birthday party (or end of summer party) up through August, maybe even early September. And why shouldn’t you really? Think of it as a grand finale, a final sunset if you will, to summer.

Here is my mood board for hosting a party such as this:
