Did you know that February 15 marks National Gumdrop Day? According to Holiday Insights, it is!

I love a good candy themed party as much as the next person, but I always wish there were more ideas out there for adults, either at the kid-friendly candy party, or FOR an adult focused, gumdrop themed party. So to help get some ideas out there for gumdrop candy party ideas for adults, I’ve put together a few of my favorite party ideas I’ve found so far.

The candy party decor ideas I’ve shared in this week’s gumdrop themed focus, include all of the major elements I would want at my candy party for adults. Thoughtful theme accents, personalized elements, delicious themed cocktails, a focal centerpiece, and a breathtaking and colorful table decor. Of course, photo booths, big props, entrance decor, clever invitations, and a million other amazing options are out there, and I’ve been pinning 200+ of my favorites. Love Is Sweet – A Cocktails and Sweets Engagement Party

Have you heard the phrase “Love Is Sweet” before? As the rise of themed candy bars grows, so does the popularity of that saying!

Do a quick search for “Love Is Sweet Take A Treat” and you will get MILLIONS of picture results with every color candy bar imaginable. Crazy isn’t it?

I thought: why not take that theme, and go a little bit further?

This week’s inspiration board was for a young, recently engaged couple who are fun loving and want to celebrate their engagement with their family and friends.  They want a relaxed and fun environment where everyone can mingle and chat. So what better way to do that then to have a cocktails and sweet party?

Love Is Sweet – A Cocktails and Sweets Engagement Party

Everyone loves desserts and can’t resist a yummy drink. I went with a light blue, almost turquoise color, paired with a bronze for this idea board, but any color combo you choose would do.

A must have for this type of party is a signature drink, extra points if you can make it match one of your theme colors.

Another must is lots and LOTS of desserts. I tried to get a little of everything in, but the highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the Ferrero Rocher inspired desserts.

If you REALLY wanted to run with this color scheme, you may want to take a trip to the thrift store. They often have odd mix and match glasses, and I bet you could probably pick up a few blue glasses for your guests to use. Don’t worry, they don’t all have to match, in fact, it’s almost better that way. Everyone will have their own unique glass, and they will help enhance the party’s décor! Win win!

Can you imagine a life without candy? Yeah, me either.

It’s especially difficult to envision with all of the candy-lined shelves at what seems like pretty much every store on every corner, with Halloween just days away.

Having said that, what ever happened to the CUTE candy?

Doesn’t it seem like everything on the shelves is plastered with labels and brand names, etc.? What ever happened to that cutesy, bright and colorful, Willy Wonka type candy? THAT is the inspiration for this week’s board. A cute candy birthday party for kids of all ages!
