Gold Glitter and Pastel Shades Unicorn Birthday Party Ideas

The cuteness! It’s taking over Pinterest. Unicorns are EVERYWHERE, like an adorable plague of happiness and glitter. And to be honest, I’m not even mad! While we are being honest, I’m not even a super unicorn fan. I mean, I don’t HATE unicorns, no, but I was never like “OH MY GOSH UNICORN EVERYTHING”. But the idea of having a young child’s birthday with a full on, unicorn-fever theme….sounds like something I want to be part of.

Now me being me, I like a bit of bling at my events, thus the gold glitter element of this kid’s birthday party decor. Spectacularly shiny, gold glitter unicorns are found in each element, from the invitation, to unicorn party games, to the cake and dessert display, to even the goodie bags and photo backdrop. Cohesion is what it’s all about!

To balance out all that sparkles and shines, the rainbow colors are all along the pastel shades family, so as to not fight with the sparkling gold glitter unicorns. From what I can tell, based on my extensive unicorn party pinning, (check out my unicorn board on Pinterest if you need more ideas for a unicorn party!), an abundance of rainbows are a must for proper unicorn party, birthday or otherwise. Choosing which shade directions, warm or cool, you choose to go can greatly influence the feel of the event, so be sure to have a clear idea of your event mood before you start your shopping!

Don’t you just love showing up to a wedding or a party and being instantly energized by the vivid colors and pulsating energy produced by the decor and the space? It’s easy to spice up your next soiree by inviting color to your decor design, without turning it into a rainbow painting party (which would also be pretty fun, but I think we’ll save that for another time). This week’s wedding and party ideas board introduces you to 7 colorful watercolor wedding and party images that you should consider for your next event.

While each of these individual images of watercolor event decor ideas can be used together to create a beautiful wedding, they can just as easily be used for a luncheon, birthday party, or any other celebration. Looking for a different theme for children’s birthday parties? Tired of seeing the cowboy or princess party every other weekend? Why not go for something fun and unexplored, and try hosting a science themed birthday party?

Not only is it not something you see in a cookie-cutter box store, but it has lots of opportunity to bring in fun learning and exploration possibilities. I especially am fond of it because it is a way to make science and curiosity fun for kids, but also a theme that girls and boys alike can share, without any gender bias.

Are you the first person to toast to a good time?

I know I try to stay as upbeat and positive as I can, and never really need a reason to celebrate. But when I do, I like to do it in style! Thinking back on engagement party ideas I’ve done in the past, a lot of them seem very…serious. And when I say serious, I don’t mean the parties are happening in the library. No, I mean more along the lines of: the parties seem like more structured events. That are very official, with a specific start and end time. And an MC could direct the event if need be.

Maybe it’s the summertime sunshine that’s gotten into my brain, (or my cup!) but I’d like to see a more laid back, tropical backyard style, out on the patio engagement party. The vibe is relaxed, great music in the background, and of course….. some tiki torches!

Ultimate Pokémon Party Ideas

Pika Pika!

By now there is no doubt you’ve heard of the phenomena that is Pokémon Go. It’s done more for the US obesity epidemic in one week then what presidential efforts have done in decades. This game is taking the world by storm, with users all over getting up and moving around in hunt for their next Pokémon catch, and I can’t blame them! Pokémon has been a long time favorite game of mine since I was younger. I played up through the gold/silver days on Gameboy. If you’re not sure what that means – well it pretty much means I am a fan of the original 151.

But enough nerd talk, we’ve got an exciting board to get to! This week I’ve put together some of my most absolute FAVORITE party ideas I’ve seen thus far. I’d reckon in the future I’ll have to update this as more and more ideas pop up, but for now, I think kids everywhere will enjoy the Pokémon party ideas I’ve put together for this week’s inspiration board. And to clarify, when I say kids, I mean tiny humans and grown adults like myself that still love their Pikachu. Or Charamander in my case. And Jigglypuff. And Sandshrew. Oh and can’t forget Eevee. Golden Pineapple – Summer Party Ideas

What a colorful summer it’s been, here on the blog! I’ve been loving the combination of vibrant summery hues with strong golds lately. If you were to take a look at some of my most recent posts, you’d see all the color I’ve been incorporating in all sorts of interesting elements for each event.

This week I thought I would combine gold (in the form of golden pineapples) with bold summer hues, with a touch of elegance by incorporating black and white stripes. While it sounds like a lot, I actually think the trio is quite impressive together. There’s something about each of these elements that balances the other out, so as to not let any one element overly dominate the design. This themed party could be used for summer wedding receptions, birthday parties, or even just a fun night with friends and family. Lots of great options!

In honor of National Wine Day, May 25, I present to you this party idea and inspiration board, full of wine themed party décor. I envision this party theme being used for a birthday party, or perhaps a bachelorette party, where lots of wine is enjoyed, and there is plenty of good spirited company around to celebrate with. I’m not sure what the most appropriate greeting for this jungle themed animal print party would be: rawr or meow. Either one could work, but I’m going to go with rawr!

Rawr! Welcome to my jungle animal print inspired party idea board.  This animal print party inspiration board is all about incorporating animal print in a more classy and modern way. I like to think there is no gimmicky jungle props involved here. And there’s no plastic animal props here either!

When I was putting this party idea board together, I was envisioning a soiree for one of three events: a ladies luncheon, a birthday party for the modern woman, or a super sophisticated baby shower. The tropical hints found in the green foliage help balance out the mixed animal prints…..and help make this a perfect theme for a summer soiree!
