Hot Pink + Gold Ladies Luncheon

Planning a summer luncheon for you and a group of ladies? Maybe you are part of an organization that hosts annual meetings over lunch. Spruce up your next luncheon with this fabulous color scheme: pink and gold!

And how cool would this floral infused hot pink and gold color scheme be paired up with a fundraiser for a local charity? I invasion this color palette at a women’s organization annual meeting, that has lunch and a fashion show. There are several trendy area boutiques and designers that attend and showcase their wares in the fashion show. Hot pink flowers adorn the stage, and of course each of the tables.

I love the extra sparkle the hints of gold bring. Fun tassels really liven up the theme, without going full on tropical flamingo.

Summertime Party: Blueberry and Peach Baby Shower

Summertime! It’s what inspired this week’s inspiration board. I was browsing Pinterest, and came by this incredible looking summertime peach and blueberry pie. It looked DEVINE!

Those are normally some of my favorite summer fruits, but it had never really occurred to me to mix the flavors, which got me thinking about the color combination of dark blue and peach….. Before you knew it, I decided that was going to be my theme for this week’s board. (I’ve also included it in the idea board below!)

These would be such fabulous colors to use at a summertime bridal or baby shower. Plus, you can do double duty on buying the produce fresh for eating, but also incorporate it into your décor. Here’s what I had in mind:

Are you ready for Mother’s Day?

It’s this weekend! I hope so!

Are you treating your mom out to dinner? Or does she prefer to do something quiet at home?

A great idea for avoiding the crowds at restaurants is to have your mother’s day celebration at home. A brunch can be a fun meal to praise and thank your mom. Plus, there are lots of delicious foods that easier than you would think to make that are perfect for a brunch party with the family. Here’s what I had in mind:

High Tea Lunch {With the Girls}

First there were the holidays, then New Years, back to work, back to school, Easter…you’ve probably been running around like crazy keeping busy! When was the last time you had a great lunch with you girlfriends where you could just nibble on some great food and chat and catch up?

I bet it has been too long!

Why not get them together over at your place, and have a cute high tea luncheon! You only need to invite a handful of ladies. Make sure to have a selection of teas and sandwiches, and some pretty sweets to nibble on. Oh, and don’t forget to pick up some lovely fresh flowers for the table!

Don’t worry, if you don’t have enough tea cups, a quick trip to your local thrift shop can fix that problem.

Sweet Lamb Baby Shower {Ideas}

Did you know I have another blog? I do! It’s my other blog that was actually my inspiration for starting THIS blog here. My original blog is The Sparkle Queen, and that’s where I started sharing my event and wedding design boards.

And you may be asking yourself, “why is she telling us this?”, and hang with me. I’m telling you because on The Sparkle Queen, I’ve have a series called “Etsy Treasury Tuesday” where I share some of beautiful items I find on Etsy in a curated treasury collection. And the other day, the theme was “Decorating a Lamb Nursery for a Baby Girl.” You can check out the post here.

I found SO MANY adorable and just flat out sweet lamb themed items; I just had to turn them into a baby shower inspiration board. I cannot remember the last time I said “Awwww” so many times in an hour!

You’re Invited: Easter Peeps Birthday Party for Kids

Do you know any kids with birthdays near Easter?

I always wondered if the kids who had birthdays on or around Easter got the short end of the presents-stick, like the kids with Christmas birthdays. But then I got to thinking, the kids with birthdays on or around Easter and Halloween probably have it MADE.

Think about it. During that time, there is literally TONS of yummy candy lining every available store shelf. Those kids can have one heck of an awesome candy party!

That got me thinking about if MY birthday was near Easter, and I was a kid, what kind of party would I want to have? And I immediately thought “PEEPS PARTY”. Naturally I just had to make a party inspiration board for something that cute. Here’s what I came up with:

Love Is Sweet – A Cocktails and Sweets Engagement Party

Have you heard the phrase “Love Is Sweet” before? As the rise of themed candy bars grows, so does the popularity of that saying!

Do a quick search for “Love Is Sweet Take A Treat” and you will get MILLIONS of picture results with every color candy bar imaginable. Crazy isn’t it?

I thought: why not take that theme, and go a little bit further?

This week’s inspiration board was for a young, recently engaged couple who are fun loving and want to celebrate their engagement with their family and friends. They want a relaxed and fun environment where everyone can mingle and chat. So what better way to do that then to have a cocktails and sweet party?

Love Is Sweet – A Cocktails and Sweets Engagement Party

Everyone loves desserts and can’t resist a yummy drink. I went with a light blue, almost turquoise color, paired with a bronze for this idea board, but any color combo you choose would do.

A must have for this type of party is a signature drink, extra points if you can make it match one of your theme colors.

Another must is lots and LOTS of desserts. I tried to get a little of everything in, but the highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the Ferrero Rocher inspired desserts.

If you REALLY wanted to run with this color scheme, you may want to take a trip to the thrift store. They often have odd mix and match glasses, and I bet you could probably pick up a few blue glasses for your guests to use. Don’t worry, they don’t all have to match, in fact, it’s almost better that way. Everyone will have their own unique glass, and they will help enhance the party’s décor! Win win!

Cute as a Button – Baby Shower Ideas

Hello again!

This week’s inspiration board is themed “Cute as a Button”. A sweet, baby shower for the crafty soon-to-be momma!

The mommy-to-be I had in mind for this baby shower is sweet, loves simplicity, and is a craft lover. With plenty of ideas for onesie decorating at baby showers, I thought a cute twist on it would be to have all of the guests bring a small portion of baby fabric (since a little goes a long way with a baby) and give it to the crafty mom-to-be to use in her future baby crafts.
