Mermaid + Merman Under the Sea Summer Party

This week I knew exactly what I wanted to create when I sat down to make this week’s party idea board. I wanted something that would be fun for kids, boys and girls, and would be a hit this summer. I came up with the idea of having a mer-people (that’s mermaids and mermen) inspired party. Naturally, it would be fantastic if this was based around a beach location, but I think a pool party would be just as fun.

Can I just start by saying how much I adore this week’s party idea board? It’s bright, bold and oh so perfect. I love the gems, the sparkle and the lux feeling it invokes. It’s later in the day – the sun is still shining. The guests are starting to arrive, and the music is the background to great conversation. The drinks are cold and the aromas of sensational food are sifting through the air. The mood is light and upbeat, with the sun shining in through the windows. A bottle of champagne is popped and the toasts for the guest of honor start.

That’s the sort of mood I’m envisioning for this week’s inspiration board. I really want something bright. Something up beat. Something high energy with a relaxed undertone. Here’s what I had in mind:

You know, all that’s missing from this week’s inspiration board is a nice bottle of champagne. Or maybe a champagne tower, you know, with the glasses overflowing with champagne being poured down, layer by layer. Yup, that’s really all this needs.

My natural instinct is the make this into a wedding theme, but to be honest, it could work for a fabulous awards dinner, gala fundraiser, and even on a smaller scale birthday party.

Happy Birthday to ME!

This inspiration board is fantastic, if I do say so myself. I made it completely centered on my birthday. I’m a January baby, who loves her garnet birthstone. If I had excessive amounts of money to spend on a lavish birthday, this would be what I would want this year. Luxury, rich jewel tones with fabulous floral and cases of delicious wine. What more would a princess want on her birthday?

Happy Wednesday!

Today I’ve got a fun party idea board to share with you. I originally envisioned a fall birthday party for kids, but I think a lot of these elements would be great at a school carnival or neighborhood block party. Between the cute pumpkin cupcakes to the pumpkin bowl games, kids could have a lot of fun just running around and enjoying the beautiful weather outside! As we get closer to ending the summer season, I thought it would be nice to share some final inspiration boards that would be perfect for summer. This week I was envisioning a birthday party (though I was torn between turning this into an anniversary party!) around sunset by the sea. The waves are crashing as the sun is setting.
