Black, White, Green and ICE! – Wedding Anniversary Ideas

Yup- you read correctly: black, white, green and ice!

Picture this: it’s a decade or two from now. You’ve been with your other half for ages. You are surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. You want to throw a fabulous wedding anniversary. But it’s winter, and everything is red, green and gold. You want something modern, but elegant. You want something chic, dramatic…. You want WOW!

Go with a black, white and green (and ice!) color theme! It is modern, can be done easily, and is incredibly chic. This anniversary is going to be like no others. You’re having a specialty tent erected, custom ice sculptures crafted, luxurious linens delivered, and the best caterer in town.

Here’s what I’m envisioning for you, beyond that white carpet entrance:

I LOVE the ice element, don’t you? It just has so much impact! What I really love about this theme is its versatility. While I originally planned this inspiration board for a wedding anniversary, it would work just as well for a wedding, a holiday party, or a gala fundraiser. The sky is the limit with this design!

Fill in the blank: Black, White and ………? (What color would you choose?)

Gatsby Inspired New Year’s Eve Dinner Party Ideas

I know, I know: Christmas hasn’t even happened yet! Why am I talking about New Year’s Eve already?

And I hear you, fair point. But if you are looking to throw an unforgettable New Year’s Eve party, you’ve got to get planning now! I’m channeling my inner Gatsby for this party. Black and gold, with a hint of art deco flair and a champagne tower: all the makings for a good time.

Ask your friends to dress their best in modern Gatsby inspired ensembles. This is not a costume party; this is a party worth dressing up for! Besides, “dressing up” adds a bit of fun to a party, don’t you think?

Now I put this idea board together channeling a dinner party, but if that’s not your speed, or you have too many friends you’d want to invite, this design concept will translate beautifully to any party style.

Ok, enough chit chat, more pictures. Here’s what I’m thinking:

May the Fourth {Black and White} Star Wars Wedding – Inspiration and Ideas

Happy *ALMOST* May the Fourth!

For those of you who have NO CLUE what I’m talking about, May fourth, also known as May the Fourth, is International Star Wars Day. And if you hadn’t guessed already it’s a play on the quote “May the force be with you”.

I’m a bit of a fan girl myself, so I couldn’t let an opportunity like this pass by. I love alternative and geek weddings, so I knew I had to make one HECK of an inspiration board for this holiday.

I decided to do a play on the colors of Star Wars, the notably black, white and yellow, and turn it into a wedding for the modern fan couple. While there are lots of Star Wars details and elements involved, there are still lots of traditional elements of a wedding, like a cake, floral, etc. that have had a bit of a geeky-god-mother-twist on them.

For example, take a look at the gorgeous wedding ceremony spot I found. It completely looks like Padme Amidala could walk by any moment to head over to the lake. I love the black floral details in it, don’t you?

Let’s take a look at the inspiration in more detail:

Black + White +Damask Engagement Party Ideas

Remember this cute Halloween costume party I shared a few weeks ago?

I really loved the silhouette accents. I thought for a costume party, silhouettes would be fantastic because they would be adorable décor, but would also not take away from the decked out, dressed up guests. Win-win.

But I got to thinking; you know who else would probably appreciate a party like this? Engaged couples! Think about it, they are there to celebrate their engagement with family and friends, but they still want a festive and decorated vibe.

For this week’s inspiration board, I went with black and white damask print, with silhouette accents.
